IGARSS 2016

Initially I didn’t intend to go to IGARSS this year but due to clerical mistakes in the Swedish system, I’ll be replacing our Ph.D. student Albert Monteith. I will have two oral presentations, one about our BorealScat experiment and one about biomass mapping with ALOS. You can find the submitted papers here and here.

See you in China!

EUSAR

I went to EUSAR 2016 and presented work on forest parameter retrieval and topography mapping from alternating bistatic TanDEM-X data. Unfortunately there is a mistake in the paper that is published in the proceedings (wrong figure was included), but you can find a better version of the paper here.

The conference itself was very good, compact and full of interesting presentation. I’m looking forward to EUSAR 2018!

Conferences 2016

2016 will be a good year for conferences. The bi-annual ESA Living Planet Symposium and EUSAR will be held in Prag, Czech Republic in early May and Hamburg, Germany, in early June, respectively. Our group will be well-represented at both conferences. The topics presented by me and my colleagues will cover the BorealScat campaign (a radar tower experiment that we are working on), forest parameter estimation from TanDEM-X data (including the ForMap-tool, which I plan to develop in the nearest future), and our work within future P- and L-band forestry satellite projects, BIOMASS and SAOCOM-CS. The abstracts submitted to these conferences will soon be made available here.

Also, the 2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) will take place in Beijing, China, in mid-July. We will be represented at IGARSS as well.
